6 Months to 6 Figures by Peter Voogd
I follow the author, Peter Voogd, on social media and have done for some time. I remember when this book was first released and I was instantly interested in it.
I quickly added it into my Amazon Reading List and only recently got round to reading and reviewing it.
But after reading 6 Months to 6 Figures, it’s not what I expected at all.
This book has a very bold title – which is one of the reasons why I wanted it.
The title is basically saying that if you read the book and do what it tells you to do, you will earn (or increase your earnings by) six figures in the next six months.
That’s a big promise!
What is the book about?
With a strong entrepreneurial title like ‘6 Months to 6 Figures’ I expected the book to have a strong business theme that teaches you how to make money and increase your earnings by six figures. But it doesn’t do any of that.
Instead, this is more of a personal development book teaching you how to set goals, how to have the right mindset, encouraging you to hang around with the right people and to practice good daily habits.
Basically, the normal stuff that you expect to find in a generic ‘how to be successful’ book.
Therefore, you may have noticed that I have categorized this book under Personal Development and not Business & Entrepreneurship (which is where I originally thought that it would go)
The reading experience
I got a bit frustrated when reading this book due to some repetitiveness. Some people may comment that there wasn’t a massive amount of repeated information, but it is a pet hate of mine so even a few paragraphs bother me.
Throughout the book, you’ll find sections that allow you to take notes, answer questions, and reflect on how the various principles will affect you and how you can apply them. These sections make the book more interactive and allow it to double up as a mini-workbook.
My overall thoughts
Even though it seems as though I am giving this book a rather negative review, in truth, it wasn’t that bad – it just doesn’t deliver on the title.
Although the book has nothing to do with increasing your earnings by six figures, it is a good personal development book for entrepreneurs.
