Entrepreneur Revolution by Daniel Priestley
Disclaimer or not? This book was gifted to me in order to produce a review for it, however, it was also on my reading list. Therefore, I’m not sure if I have to give a disclaimer for this book or not. Either way, I never guarantee a positive review and all reviews remain my own honest opinion.
When this book first arrived, my initial thoughts were about the book’s dimensions and content length.
Last year I read and reviewed another book by Daniel Priestley, Key Person of Influence, and for some reason, I expected this book to be about the same size.
But it’s not. This book is much bigger – both in dimension and word count.
That’s really not a problem (as long as the extra words don’t equate to just waffle and repeated information), but it just meant that it would take me a bit longer to read than I anticipated.
The print and design of the book are very appealing. It’s clean and crisp with good spacing and plenty of margin space for you to record personal notes.
Who is this book for?
The Entrepreneur Revolution is ideally suited to budding entrepreneurs and those that have just started to go at it alone.
If you are a seasoned entrepreneur with 10+ successful business years under your belt, then you’re not going to get much value from this book and I recommend that you bypass it.
This book is written for the entrepreneurial newbies to help ensure that they start off on the right foot, with the right mindset, and with a clear goal of what it is that they are trying to achieve.
What is the Entrepreneur Revolution about?
Very briefly, the book is broken down into the following three parts.
Part 1 – Breaking Free from the Industrial Revolution Economy
In this section, you will learn all about why now is the best time to become an entrepreneur and why entrepreneurship is the only way that you can build the lifestyle that you dream of.
Part 2 – Finding Your Place in the Entrepreneur Revolution
Here you will discover what it is that you are going to do as an entrepreneur, you will find your sweet spot and understand the attraction to become a global small business.
Pay particular attention to the chapter on the ‘Ascending Transaction Model’. I really enjoyed this chapter and found it very valuable.
Part 3 – Living the Entrepreneur Revolution Dream
Finally, you can follow the seven-stage journey to building your business, learn how to build your dream team and study the value creation cycle.
My overall thoughts
The Entrepreneur Revolution is a motivational book that is great for new entrepreneurs.
Through running this blog and my YouTube channel, I have read a lot of books that are targeted towards this audience, but I believe that this one is the most valuable.
Firstly, it’s written in a very simple and straight-forward manner meaning that anyone can pick this book up and understand what it’s going on about. Although that sounds obvious, you’ll be surprised how many books targeted towards new entrepreneurs write their books as though they are talking to seasoned professionals.
Secondly, this book is jam-packed full of actionable content – step-by-step instructions that break down exactly what you need to do at each stage to maximize your chances of success. Your yellow brick road to becoming an entrepreneur.
A highly recommended read for those who want to go at it alone.
