Don’t Sleep on It by Kavit Haria

What is Don’t Sleep on It about?
This book just randomly turned up on my doorstep one day.
I had no clue what it was about other than the information that was provided on the front cover, which was…
‘Turn You Passion & Expertise into a Profitable Online Business”
But let’s be honest here, a ‘profitable online business’ could mean anything!
There are many online businesses – affiliate marketing, drop shipping, bloggers and influencers, e-commerce, print on demand etc. Which one is this book going to teach me?
Well, after reading Don’t Sleep on It, I can tell you that it is going to teach you how to build a profitable online course.
Creating an online course
This book covers everything you need to know in order to make your very own course and sell it over the internet.
Here are a few things you can expect to learn:
- How to create your brand
- How to structure your course
- How to create your course content
- How to price your course
- How to create marketing funnels to help sell your course
- How to use social media to help promote your course
- Plus more
The author, Kavit Haria, has not missed anything out and has given you a clear step-by-step guide on what to do and when.
This is not a book for every entrepreneur wanting to create a course
Even though this book lays out a clear path for those that want to package their skills into a course, I have to say that it’s very basic.
I personally didn’t learn anything new and I probably won’t be picking this book up again.
BUT… I am an online marketer and I earn my income from working online, therefore, of course I’m going to know this stuff! If I didn’t know it, then I would be questioning my own skills as a digital marketer.
This book is designed and written for the newbie.
If someone’s passion and expertise lie within playing the guitar (an example from the book) then they might not have an array of online and digital skills. (Whereas I do this stuff every day!)
In which case, this book is going to be perfect for them!
My overall thoughts
This is a good book and it deserves a good review score.
It outlines, very clearly and simply, how to create a profitable online course. It’s easy and enjoyable to read and has a pleasant design and layout.
My only negative (and it’s not really a negative) is that I would not recommend it to seasoned entrepreneurs and digital marketers as they may find the content a bit basic. But for those whose expertise lies elsewhere, Don’t Sleep on It is a great book, and in which instance, I would highly recommend it.
(…I also wish that the author used the words ‘online course’ instead of just ‘online business’ on the front cover as I believe this explains more of what the book is about, but maybe I’m just being a bit persnickety.)
